PURPOSE:To provide the titled filament yarn having a specific large number of longitudinally elongated minute pores having specific width and length, free from matting agent, having silky luster and flexural restorability, and dry feeling. CONSTITUTION:A polyester such as polyethylene terephthalate is prepared by polymerizing in the presence of a fine-pore forming agent (e.g. kaolinite), the resin is subjected to the melt-spinning and drawing according to conventional methods, and the obtained filament yarn is treated with alkali to reduce its volume. The objective filament yarn having a number of longitudinally elongated minute pores on the surface and free of matting agent can be prepared by this method. The distribution peak of the maximum width of the pore is 0.2-0.7mu, the average value of the ratio of length/maximum width is <=3, >=60% of the pores have depth of <=0.1mu, and the average number of the pores is 10-30 per 100mum<2> of the filament surface. |
