FILM FOR THERMAL TRANSFER INK RIBBON AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To enhance the resistance to heat sticking by a method wherein a thermal transfer ink ribbon comprising a heat-fusible ink layer on one side of a biaxially stretched thermoplastic resin film is provided with a specified resin on the other side of the film. CONSTITUTION:A base film comprising a biaxially stretched thermoplastic resin film is provided with a heat-fusible ink layer on one side thereof. On the other side of the base film is provided a thin layer which comprises a heat- reactive urethane prepolymer (X) and/or a fluorine containing polymeric resin having a perfluoroalkyl group (Y) and a compound having the hydroxyl group at both ends of a dimethylpolysiloxane group (Z) and in which the amount of solids comprising the resin Y and the compound Z or at least one compound selected from Z and the prepolymer X is 0.005 to 0.5g/m<2>. It is thereby possible to obtain a film for thermal transfer ink ribbon which has excellent resistance to heat sticking.
