<p>1298357 Fluid regulation GARRETT CORP 4 Dec 1969 [5 Dec 1968] 59385/69 Heading G3H In a fluidic transducer, signals applied to an electromagnet 11 result in a corresponding deflection of an armature 39 carrying a cylindrical pin 41, and hence also in a corresponding apportionment between two outlets 16 and 17 of a fluid stream issuing from an inlet nozzle 15, the outlets being separated by a splitter element 20. The pin may have a diameter substantially equal to that of the inlet nozzle 15 and, with the outlets 16, 17 laterally displaced from the axis of nozzle 15, may be arranged to lie oppositely to one of the outlets 16 or 17 when in its de-energized state so that fluid is deflected to the other of the two outlets, Fig. 2 (not shown). Alternatively, the outlets may be disposed symmetrically with respect to the inlet nozzle axis so that when in its neutral position, the pin causes an equal distribution of fluid between the two outlets, Fig. 3 (not shown). Adherance of the fluid beam to the pin contour can be achieved by rendering the pin diameter substantially greater than the diameter of nozzle 15, Fig. 4 (not shown).</p> |
