As shown capacitors 13 with metallized end contact faces 5 are fed and clamped to conveyer belt 3, an amount 7 of powdered material determined by endless belt 8 is dispensed on to a contact face, some of the powder is melted by h.f. coil 9 to form a granular layer 10 of desired thickness, excess powder is sucked off by device 11 and layer 10 is consolidated by heat source 16. Capacitors 13 may have been formed from a parent capacitor wound on a drum by severing after end contact layers have been applied. Heating may alternatively be by conduction via connecting wires or resistance heating. |
