PURPOSE:To reduce power consumption by automatically interrupting the power source for a stan-by unit having redundant configuration upon detection of abnormality in normal power source or in ambient temperature rise of an electronic exchanger. CONSTITUTION:Upon interruption of commercial power source during operation of an electronic exchanger 1, the power interruption is detected immediately through a power source abnormality detecting circuit 7 and transmitted to a main controller 2. When the abnormality of power source continues longer than a predetermined time or when an abnormality detection signal is also provided from a temperature abnormality detecting circuit 8, the main controller 2 confirms the state of system configuration in the electronic exchange 1 and determines a unit which can be disabled through interruption of power source without sacrifice of the function of the electronic exchange 1. Then a control signal for interrupting the power source is fed to a power source switching circuit 10 at the side of stand-by system for each unit which is determined to be disabled. By such arrangement, power consumption of the electronic exchanger 1 can be reduced. |
