The bit, which can be used with a hammer out of the hole or in the hole, comprises a body 12 made from hard metal which is provided, on its working face, with cavities or blind holes for receiving biting elements 14 of which at least the end projecting out of the body is made from an ultra-hard material, and which is provided, on the opposite side, with means for fixing it to the rotary-percussive device. The majority at least of the biting elements have an inclination in the direction of rotation which is obtained by offsetting their root in the direction opposite the direction of rotation. <IMAGE>
