The mowing machine is for leaf crops, particularly spinach. It has a vehicle-mounted beam in which are two rows of cutter teeth one above the other, pointing in the travel direction and moving in relation to each other in a plane at right angles to this direction. A mechanism (11,12) forms the mown crop into a swath. A discharge mechanism (21, 22) is connected to that forming the swath, and typically comprises bottom (20) and side belts together forming a trough, and hinging on the beam (3) via a horizontal axis.
