PURPOSE:To obtain the subject material suitable for synthetic leather, etc., having excellent water vapor transmission and durability efficiently, economically and advantageously by using a water-in-oil type emulsion comprising a specific hydrophobic polyurethane as a main component and a small amount of an emulsifying agent. CONSTITUTION:In coating a sheetlike substrate with a water-in-oil type emulsion comprising (A) a hydrophobic polyurethane, (B) a hydrophilic modified polyurethane and (C) an organic solvent and drying, a polyurethane prepared by reacting a hydrophobic polyol with an organic diisocyanate and a chain extender in the component C having 1 to 50g/100g water solubility at 25 deg.C is used as the component A and a block polymer prepared by reacting a hydrophobic polyol with an organic diisocyanate, an azo-based peroxide initiator containing active hydrogen and two functional groups and a hydrophilic vinyl monomer as the component B to give the objective material. |
