PURPOSE:To shorten the cycling time of a transmitting pulse by allowing an ultrasonic vibrator to have a curvature in the peripheral direction of a round bar and a steel pipe material, and providing an attachment being not parallel to the axial direction of the round bar and the steel pipe material between the ultrasonic vibrator and an acoustic coupling material. CONSTITUTION:An ultrasonic vibrator 9 of the inside of an ultrasonic wave probe 1 has a curvature in the peripheral direction of a round bar and a steel pipe material 3, and between the ultrasonic vibrator 9 and water of an acoustic coupling material 2, an attachment 7 being not parallel to the axial direction of the round bar and the steel pipe material 3 is provided. According to this constitution, an ultrasonic beam 5 is made incident vertically on the surface of the round bar and the steel pipe material 3, and varying a material of the attachment and a propagation distance of an ultrasonic beam X1 propagated through the inside, an acoustic pressure level can be lowered whenever the beam passes through the attachment 7 once, and since the ultrasonic vibrator 9 has a curvature in the peripheral direction of the round bar and the steel pipe material 3, the ultrasonic beam 5 in the inside of the round bar and the steel pipe material 3 can be converged. Accordingly, the cycling time of a transmitting pulse is shortened without lowering the flaw detection performance. |
