PURPOSE: To obtain a carrier for a filter or for a catalyst having good fluid passability at a relatively low cost by sintering powdery or granular grains, chips, or the like, on layers or on the constituent element of the layers. CONSTITUTION: Many layers 1 comprising a constituent element such as woven or knitted wire 2 are laminated to form a fabric-reticular body. This fabric- reticular body is coated or impregnated with an adhesive liq. and grains 3 are incorporated and distributed in the fabric-reticular body under vibration. When the fabric-reticular body is sintered, the layers 1 comprising the wire 2 and the grains 3 are sintered together and sintering is also caused between the constituent elements. The objective carrier for a filter or for a catalyst having a larger contact area, high strength and good fluid passability is obtd. |
