Sterilising water used in plant nursery - applying combination of ultraviolet radiation and dissolved ozone

Water from a reservoir (1) is pumped via a venturi injector (3) to a reactor vessel, together with a supply of ozone (10). The water with dissolved ozone passes through a pipe to a water jacket surrounding an ultra-violet lamp (7). Air is pumped (9) past the lamp to produce the ozone which is added at the venturi (3). The sterilised water draining (8) from the jacket is then fed to the growing medium. The ultra-violet radiation is at a strength between 50 and 150 milli-joules per square centimetre.
