It comprises a magnetic circuit 3, one or more coils 4, a movable pole piece 2 sliding over one face of the poles of the electromagnet and a pole piece support allowing mechanical selection of a hook or a catch. A prepositioning force F arms the system. The pole piece slides along one face of the poles of the electromagnet. When the force F is removed the support is returned to its original position by the force f if the electromagnet is not energised. If the electromagnet is energised the pole piece is applied flat against the electromagnet and remains in position.
