Alignment of model in dental articulator - by means of circular spirit level

Artificial crowns are fitted to the strumps of natural teeth which are shaped to form a cone with a taper angle of 6 deg. and the crowns are provided with a blind hole of corresp. form. The crowns are first fitted to a model of the patient's teeth which is mounted on a base plate which is in turn mounted in an articulator. The model is aligned correctly w.r.t. the base plate by means of a circular spirit level (1). The face of the spirit level is marked with concentric circles. The outer most circle indicates that the base plate is tilted at an angle of 6 deg. USE - Production of dental prostheses.
