The cardboard container (17) for free flowing material has a rectangular cross-section. The top end on its narrow sides (22) is provided with a short, inwards folded panel (20). The container lid (12) is made of moulded plastics. It has tapered ends (28) with a flange rib (19) on its inside end face (18). When the lid (12) is pressed into the container, the flange rib (19) interlocks with the folded panel (20) in order to secure the lid installation. An undercut recess (14) on the upper lid face (13) is provided to pull the lid off the container. USE/ADVANTAGE - Rectangular cardboard container is provided with secure plastics lid which is easy to remove without damage to the container.
