The air-conditioning system is for the gallery (1) of an underground mine. It comprises one or more compressed-air pipes (8) in the gallery, and along which a number of rotary-jet coolers (10) are connected at intervals. Each jet is cooler has its own regulator (11), so that they can be cut in and out of use individually or in groups. Their output rates can also be controllable.
