Seal for cutting edge ring - has concentric conical surfaces on one side of part being sealed, and spherical counter-surfaces on other side

The seal is for a cutting edge ring. It consists of the parts being sealed possessing concentric conical surfaces (2,3) or annular or cylindrical surfaces abutting at an angle, thereby forming a cutting or compression edge (1). On the other side, the parts being sealed have a spherical counter surface (4) with a radius (R) against which the cutting edge (1) is sealed against the tangential surface on the contact line between the cutting edge (1) and the counter surface (4). USE/ADVANTAGE - The secure seal is for high pressure or ultra high vacuum containers or pipes requiring min. pressure to seal them.
