Packet switched data is received over a number of incoming lines (E1-En). Arrangement consists of a number of cross coupled stages (K5) connected in series. Each stage is constructed from modules (KM) which comprise of transfer stages (VEST) and patching units (RK). Random access memories in the transfer stages (VEST) hold information relating to the state on the output lines. ADVANTAGE - Increased speed of operation.
