PURPOSE:To reduce the fatigue of a driver at a traffic jam by correcting a desired car speed according to operating condition of a brake when a brake pedal is operated in the case where a slow traveling mode is set by a slow traveling setting means. CONSTITUTION:When a driver turns on a slow traveling mode setting switch 2 as a road is jammed with cars, a position of a preceding car within the specified distance (about 10m) is measured all the time by a traveling direction detector 20, and the output is inputted into a computer unit 1. When open of a brake pedal is detected by a brake sensor 50, a throttle valve driving motor 4 and a transmission 6 is subjected to feedback control by a car speed sensor 9 on the basis of car speed and the desired one. On the other hand, when operation of the brake pedal is detected, any motion of the motor 4 is stopped, while the desired car speed is corrected on the basis of brake operating conditions, and afterward the desired speed is renewed to the low speed direction in succession. |
