<p>A process for producing a β-sialon sinter having a fracture toughness value (KIC) of 6.5 MPam1/2 or more, which comprises wet-mixing a compound composed of 0.5 to 20 wt % of a sintering aid of up to 5.0 νm in a mean particle diameter (e.g., MgO), 3 to 40 wt % of an additive of up to 5.0 νm in a mean particle diameter (e.g., SiC) and the balance of β-sialon powder of up to 2.0 νm in a mean particle diameter, drying and sintering it.</p> |
