Mfg. stamping or punch part from metal strip - shearing edges into slots and simultaneously lifting both sides to heap-up material

The mfg. method for a punched or stamped-out part, having mutually concentric pins (3) arranged on both sides, from sheet metal strip, enables material lugs or tabs to be formed in the edge region of the metal strip (1) by means of cutting. The punched or stamped-out parts (2) i.e. pressure plates used for the terminal connections of electrical conductors are rotatably mounted by means of the concentric pins (3) on either side of the strip. To form this arrangement, slots (4) are cut into both edges of the metal strip (I) to provide the tags or lugs with a width corresp. to the width of the slots. The pins (3) are formed from the piled-up material (5) resulting from the high pressures involved on the top and bottom faces of the metal strip during the cutting of the slots (4). ADVANTAGE - Fast, simple and cost effective mfg. process.
