In a burner (2) for Cowpers, combustion is to be improved and the flow distribution is to be evened out. For this purpose, the gas-bearing and air-bearing slotted chambers (9) are separated by thin-walled plates (8) of a deflection box (7). The first slotted chambers (9) of the deflection box (7) are open on the narrow side (10) for the entry of one medium, the inflow direction being in the direction of the longitudinal extent of the slotted chambers (9). The other slotted chambers (9) of the deflection box (7) are open at the bottom (11) for the entry of the other medium. Above the deflection box (7) ducts (16) are formed which consist of refractory moulded bricks (20) and which divide the flow from each of the elongate slotted chambers (9) into a plurality of smaller flow cross-sections. The ducts (16) lead to a mixing zone (19) of refractory moulded bricks (20), where gas and air from each of the neighbouring ducts (16) mix. …<IMAGE>… |
