Water flowing through a plastic channel (3) from a stopcock (6) to an outlet tap (13) is heated on demand by a succession of resistive elements (R1-R5) in enlarged channel sections (7-9,11,12) to which electric power is supplied via triacs (T1-T4) and mechanical switches (S1-S3). The triacs (T1-T4) are fired by signals from a controller (15) responsive to a desired-temp. input (16) and to signals (17,27,28) from the stopcock (6) and temp. sensors (25,26) preceding and following the first two heating elements (R1,R2). The controller (15) compensates automatically for adjustments of the set-point temp. (16) and variations of the inlet water temp. and flow rate.
|
