PURPOSE:To obtain the highly dense lanthanum chromate-based multiple oxide by adding specified amts. of Bi2O3 and B2O3 to a perovskite oxide having a solid soln. composition and sintering the mixture. CONSTITUTION:From 2 to 4.0mol% Bi2O3 as Bi and 0.2 to 16mol% B2O3 as B are added to a perovskite oxide having a solid soln. composition shown by formula (0<=x<1 and 0<=y<1). The mixture is sintered at 1200 to 1400 deg.C to obtain the desired multiple oxide. When only B2O3 is added, the sintered body can be densified to >=90% relative density, however the body is hardly densified to >=93% relative density. When only B2O3 is used, the sintered body is densified only to about 80% relative density. The lanthanumchromium-based multiple oxide is densified only by adding both Bi2O3 and B2O3. The multiple oxide is useful for the interconnector of a solid electrolyte-type fuel cell, the heating element of an ultrahigh-temp. oxidizing atmosphere furnace, the electrode for an MHD generator, etc. |
