摘要 PURPOSE: To measure the sectional area of a blood vessel and the flow rate of a blood by providing a guide wire with a slender shaft having an end portion and the end of a base portion and a tip fixed to the end portion of a shaft, and making the guide wire operable. CONSTITUTION: A guide wire 10 includes a slender shaft 12 having an end portion 12a and the end of a base portion 12b, and also includes the tip region 14 of the end connected with the end portion 12a. The shaft 12 is very flexible, but has a torsional rigidity such as a rotation loaded on the base portion 12b is mostly transmitted to the end portion 12a. The tip region 14 of the end is curved with a predetermined curving shape when it is loosened, and suited to the shape of the blood vessel, and sufficiently flexible so as to follow them. An end electrode 20 and a base electrode 22 are remotely provided by a insulation member 24 in the tip region 14. The end electrode 20 and the base electrode 22 are electrically connected to the end of the base portion of the guide wire 10 by a conductive wire 26 and a conductive tube 28. The wire 26 and the tube 28 are connected to an external stimulation and detecting circuit 34 by a leads 30 and 32, and the stimulation and detecting circuit 34 is connected to a chart recorder 36.
