Linear slideways, specially for the mould clamping plate of low-pressure diecasting machines, consist of a square guide bars, mounted in a stationary frame between two guide strips. The movable mould carrier has a guide strip for each guide bar which is pressuried by rods, urged forward by a wedge-shaped piston. The guide bars and guide strips are so arranged that their centre lines cross in the centre of the clamping plate.
