PURPOSE: To reduce the probability of erroneous detection by receiving user specifications including a maximum charge amount per unit object surface, the size of a scanned surface and positioning accuracy at a signal processing unit and selecting any subprocedure to provide shortest detection time at the signal processing unit. CONSTITUTION: A signal processing unit 10 receives the user specifications including the maximum charge amount per surface of a unit object 3, the size of the scanned surface and positioning accuracy and based on these user specifications and marker characteristics, the signal processing unit 10 performs selection between two subprocedures including a level search method and a relative search method and selects the subprocedure to provide the shortest detection time. Thus, danger to erroneously detect a marker at a position where no marker exists is remarkably decreased. |
