The invention relates to a propeller for use in a flowing medium, said propeller comprising a hub (1) and a blade system fixed thereto and comprising at least two blades (4-12) extending radially or substantially radially from the hub (1), at least two blade circles (2, 3) surrounding the hub, said blade circles being fixed to the periphery of the hub at a distance from one another seen in the direction of the axis of rotation (I-I) of the propeller. The blades (4-12) of each blade circle (2, 3) are at an oblique angle to the axis of rotation of the propeller and the leading edge (4', 5', 6', 9') of at least one blade (4-9) of blade circle (2) is located in the vicinity of the trailing edge (11'', 10'', 15'', 12'') of at least one blade (11, 10, 12) of the second blade circle (3) so that there is a slot (17) between said leading edge and said trailing edge.
