PURPOSE:To remove a noise existing in picture information regardless of the occurring position of the noise by reading out the picture information of a designated area from a picture memory, and activating a run length count circuit and a picture information generation circuit, and simultaneously, writing the generated new picture information in the former area of the picture memory. CONSTITUTION:When a picture is displayed on the display screen of a displaying means 4, and the area to be processed of the displayed picture is designated, the picture information of the designated area is read out from the picture memory 2, and is supplied to the run length count circuit 5. The run length count circuit 5 counts the run length of the read out picture information, and the picture information generation circuit 6 compares a count value and the run length determined beforehand, and when the count value is below the run length determined beforehand, it white-black-inversion processes that picture information, and generates the new picture information. Then, this new picture information is written in the former area of the picture memory 2. Thus, since the run length of the noise part of the picture information is short, the noise is removed by white-black-inversion-processing this part. |
