<p>PURPOSE:To swiftly retrieve and easily reproduce a required information signal by recording a retrieval signal for an information signal to a tape-like recording medium for a prescribed period together with its information signal. CONSTITUTION:A video signal input V1 is processed by a video signal processing circuit 30 and then sent to an a-contact of a switch 36. An audio signal A1 is processed by a PCM audio signal processing circuit 32 and then sent to a b-contact of the switch 36. A retrieval signal is specified by an operation switch 60 and sent from a system control circuit 58 to an index signal processing circuit 34, where an information signal corresponding to the specified retrieval signal is outputted and sent to a c-contact of the switch 36. When the retrieval signal is to be inputted, the tape is reproduced under a reproducing mode, and when it reaches a prescribed position, the reproducing mode is changed over to a write mode, and then the signal is recorded in an index area. By this method, the recording and reproducing device capable of swiftly retrieving and reproducing required information can be obtained.</p> |
