ABSORPTION COVER FOR WOUNDS ON BASE OF BEAD CELLULOSE

The solution concerns the absorption cover on wounds in the form of powder, which serves for treatment, cleaning and covering of purulent and necrotic wounds. Its impact is based only on physical effects, i.e. on the suction of exudates along with its microbe component, while the substances causing inflammations, toxins etc., are simultaneously removed. The cover of this new type does not contain any foreign components, which would get into the blood circulation. It consists of spherical parts of the regenerated cellulose with the size of 0.05 to 0.5 millimetres. The production is based on common bead cellulose and, by rational management of the drying process, a product is acquired, which is capable of swelling to a high degree. Its production is simpler and less costly than the production of the hitherto known absorption covers. The new absorbing powder can be used in medical practice, wherever the application of absorption covers is recommended on the basis of chemically cross-linked dextrans or cellulose powders modified by the dissoluble polymer.
