The shell (10), enclosing a chamber (20) for an explosive charge for a rocket, is designed for controlled fragmentation. It consists of an outer wall (1) inside which is an inner wall (2), with a layer of steel plates (3) in the space between them. The outer wall is formed by a helically wound wire (4), and the space between is formed by the plates which project radially, and fit into radial notches (5) across the wire. The size of the plates is smaller than the size of the fragments (6) formed by the notches across the wire.
|
