PURPOSE:To obtain an oiling agent, composed of a compound prepared by reacting a specific compound with a specified monoolefin in the presence of a radical former and increasing the kinematic viscosity to twice or more that of the above-mentioned raw material and capable of preventing strength from deteriorating in process such as yarn twisting or weaving by application thereof to synthetic fiber for reinforcing rubber. CONSTITUTION:An oiling agent obtained by adding 2-4C alkylene oxide to an 8-20C fatty acid, aliphatic alcohol or fatty acid ester having 5-500cst kinematic viscosity at 40 deg.C and increasing the above-mentioned kinematic viscosity to >= twice that of the original compound, using thew resultant compound as a raw material, reacting a 4-30C monoolefin with the above-mentioned raw material in the presence of a radical former (e.g. di-tert-butyl peroxide), producing branched chains in aliphatic groups of the raw material, simultaneously carrying out crosslinking reaction between mutual aliphatic groups, blending the resultant compound having the kinematic viscosity at 40 deg.C increased to >= twice based on that of the raw material substance with a lubricant, etc., and preparing a treating agent for synthetic fiber. The above-mentioned oiling agent in an amount of 0.2-2.0wt.% is then supplied to fiber yarns to prevent strength from deteriorating in processes, such as yarn twisting, weaving or treatment with an adhesive. |
