<p>Determination of oxidising and reducing substances in soln. by reaction with a preformed chelate of completely bound Cu with a 2,2-diquinoline or a 2,9-substd.-1,10-phenanthroline to change the valency state of the Cu and so the colour of the indicator, and measuring this colorimetrically. Analytical method, esp. for determining glucose esp. in presence of uric acid or creatinine. Pref. indicators formed from 2,2-diquinoline, 2,9-dimethyl- and 2,9-dimethyl-4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline or water-sol. salts thereof combined with ionic Cu in 2:1 molar ratio, cuprous or cupric complexes being formed as approp. Indicators are highly coloured and used in excess of oxidising or reducing agent. By using acetate ions, approp. pH etc. glucose can be determined in presence of uric acid or creatinine or vice versa.</p> |
