The invention concerns the method of preparation of a mixture of polyamides or co-polyamides with polyphenyloxide. Its basis concerns the fact that the preparation proceeds in two or more stages. In the first stage, the mixture of polyphenyloxide is homogenized at a temperature above the softening temperature of the polyphenyloxide component with 1 to 8 percent by weight of the polyamide component. At the second and possibly other stages, the remaining part of polyamide and other common additives are added at a temperature above the softening temperature of the homogenous mixture that arose in the previous stage.
