COMMUNICATION SYSTEM COMPRISING INTERROGATION DEVICE AND RESPONSE DEVICE

PURPOSE:To enable an interrogation device and a response device to be mounted while being separated from each other by arranging the open end of a waveguide as opposed to an antenna provided on one of the devices in front of another antenna mounted on the other device. CONSTITUTION:An interrogation device 1 is provided with a first microstrip antenna 2 for emitting a micro-frequency energy wave f1 as a vertical polarization, a second microstrip antenna 3 for emitting an interrogation signal f2 wherein a micro-frequency is modulated by the interrogation signal as a horizontal polarization and a third microstrip antenna 5 for receiving response signal wave f3 transmitted from a response device 4. Surrounding the antennas 2, 3 and 5, a waveguide 6 is arranged as opposed to antennas mounted on the response device 4. The configuration of the section of the waveguide 6 is set so as to be able to transmit any of the energy wave f1, an interrogation signal wave f2 and the response signal wave f3 without an attenuation. Thus a distance between the interrogation device and the response device can be elongated by the length of the inserted waveguide 6.
