摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain high transfer density and high sensitivity and to improve the thermal welding of an image receiving material and a dye donating material at the time of thermal transfer by containing a water-soluble polymer containing an alkylene oxide group as a monomer component in the water-soluble binder of at least one layer among image receiving surface constituting layers. CONSTITUTION:An image receiving layer of a dye is provided to a thermal transfer image receiving material. This image receiving layer receives the thermal transfer dye transferred from a thermal transfer dye donating material at the time of printing and supports substance having function dyed with the thermal transfer dye and capable of receiving the thermal transfer dye in a state dispersed in a water-soluble binder. The water-soluble binder of at least one of image receiving layers contains at least a water-soluble polymer containing at least an alkylene oxide group as a monomer component. By this method, manufacturing aptitude and image storage stability are enhanced and high transfer density and high sensitivity can be obtained. When this water-soluble polymer is used in the outermost layer, the thermal welding of the image receiving material and the dye donating material at the time of thermal transfer is improved.
