PURPOSE:To save the capacity of a line memory by performing the interpolation of a subsample video signal by switching the switching phase of each switch which interpolates a 2nd interpolation picture element signal to a 1st interpolation picture element signal and the output of a 2nd arithmetic circuit for each line. CONSTITUTION:In a period of the first half of a 16MHz clock, the switches S5a-S5e are connected to the (a), (b), (a), (b) and (a) sides respectively. Then the outputs of these switches are added together by an adder 36 and the intra- field interpolation output is obtained for a picture element S33. In a period of the second half of the 16MHz clock, the switches S5a-S5e are connected adversely to the (b), (a), (b), (a) and (b) sides respectively. Then the outputs of the switches are added together by the adder 36 and the intra-field interpolation output is obtained for a picture element S34. Therefore, only switches S5a-S5e are switched at the rate of 32.4MHz. As a result, the signals interpolated into a field for each 32.4MHz can be obtained from the output of the adder 36. |
