PURPOSE:To improve low temperature fixability, offset resistance, and blocking resistance by using a binder resin composed essentially of the thermal reaction product of an amorphous polyester resin with a vinyl copolymer. CONSTITUTION:It is preferred to use the amorphous polyester resin having a number average molecular weight Mn of 1,000 - 5,000, and if the Mn is <1,000, blocking resistance and offset resistance of the toner are deteriorated, and if the Mn is >5,000, low temperature fixability is degraded. The vinyl copolymer has a Mn of, preferably, 3X10<4> - 5X10<4>. It is preferred that AVXWp/OHVXWv is in the range of 2 - 10, where AV and Wp are the acid value and the weight of the polyester, respectively, and OHV and Wv are the hydroxyl value and the weight of the vinyl copolymer, respectively, and if the ratio is <2, low temperature fixability and offset resistance are lowered and if the ratio is >10, blocking resistance is degraded. |
