PURPOSE: To prevent a waste of a sheet and a consumption of an operating time by testing whether one of a solid color density and a dot size increase coincides with a printing reference or not at the time starting setting up and altering a printing parameter in the case of discordance. CONSTITUTION: At the time of starting setting up, whether at least one of binary values of a solid color density and a dot size increase coincides with a printing reference or not is tested by considering a correlation between both. And, in the case of discordance with a set allowed range, a printing operation is interrupted, and at least one printing parameter separate from a parameter for giving an influence to a printing ink supply is altered to alter a function of the present solid color density and dot size increase. Thereafter, the operation is resumed. And it is repeated necessary times until the reference falls within the allowed range. As a part of a testing unit for the purpose of the testing, color density measuring system 45, 50, a computer 66 and the like are included in a constituting, and mutually connected. |
