A printer for a computer system includes a data receiving circuit (2) , a main CPU, a driver (9) for driving motors (10,11) and a dot head (12), a printing apparatus (13), a control circuit (7) for providing a control signal to the main CPU, a timer, equipped in the control circuit and connected to the main CPU, for generating a data signal, and a dip switch section (3) for setting the timer with a corresponding date.
