PURPOSE:To facilitate an intake inertia effect and fuel atomization by providing high and low speed intake ports at every cylinders, and a low speed dedicated intake port in a low speed rotating range, then stopping an intake valve of a high speed intake port in the low speed rotating range, and passing air to only the low speed dedicated intake port at a high speed. CONSTITUTION:In a four-cylinder engine 1, low and high speed intake holes 7, 8 and exhaust holes 9 are provided in respective combustion chambers 6, respectively, and low and high speed intake valves 10, 11 and an exhaust valve 12 are arranged, respectively. From an intake chamber 13, low and high speed common intake ports 14 are provided at every cylinder, and the ports 14 are branched into low and high speed intake ports 15, 16, then the ports 15, 26 are connected to low and high intake holes 7, 8, respectively, and shutter valves 17 are respectively arranged at the low speed intake ports 15. The inside of the intake chamber 13 in connected to the downstream parts of the low intake ports 15 from the shutter parts 17 through the low speed dedicated intake ports 18, and high and low fuel injection valves 19, 20 are arranged at the respective ports 14, 18. |
