PURPOSE:To make a map for a destination most detail and to simplify the map selection by inputting appropriate points along a route, and displaying the map in the maximum possible scale including the next point every time a vehicle passes each point on a screen. CONSTITUTION:The present position, the destination and appropriate points are inputted with a signal processor 16 of a running guide apparatus 2. A map image from the present position to the destination is displayed on a CRT 10. At this time, the map in the maximum scale including the present position and the next point is displayed on the screen until a vehicle approaches the next point. When the vehicle approaches said point, the map in the maximum scale in the vicinity of said pint is displayed. When the vehicle has passed said point, the map in the maximum scale including the next destination is displayed. Thereafter, this operation is repeated. Therefore, the maps to the destination are made to be the detailed map, and the map selection is simplified. |
