PURPOSE:To obtain feldspathic porcelain of high strength having fine and homogeneous structure by allowing the porcelain to have a chemical composition of SiO2, Al2O3, K2O or Na2O and specifying the crystalline phase, the amounts of crystals, crystalline size and unglazed bending strength. CONSTITUTION:The subject feldspathic porcelain has the following properties: (1) chemical composition of the major components constituting the porcelain is set to 22 to 85wt.% of SiO2, 10 to 73wt.% of Al2O3: and 1.5 to 6.5wt.% of K2O and/or Na2O. (2) the crystal phase is at least one selected from crystals consisting of corundum, mullite, cristobalite and quartz, (3) the amounts of crystals are less than 60wt.% of corundum, 5 to 50wt.% of mullite, less than 40wt.% of cristobalite and less than 10wt.% of quartz and the total amount of the crystals is more than 40 wt.%. (4) the crystal sizes are less than 20mu with no defect of larger than 40mu and (5) higher than 1,400kg/cm<2> unglazed bending strength. |
