<p>PURPOSE:To display the set state of an operating mode and the type of a loaded cassette tape by providing a means to discriminate the type of the tape, a means to discriminate the mode, and a means to display the set mode of recording or reproducing and the type of the loaded tape. CONSTITUTION:The three types of the tape cassettes can be discriminated by observing a detecting hole 64 and a tape type detecting hole 66. Further the level of a prescribed frequency component in a reproduced FM modulated luminance signal YPM is detected by a mode discriminating circuit 43, and whether or not the signal reproduced from a tape 22 is the signal in a high band mode or the one in a normal mode is discriminated. Further the set mode of the recording or reproducing and the type of the tape are displayed on a display part 57. Thus by displaying the set mode of recording/reproducing and the tape type ona display part 57, the recording/reproducing state can be surely observed visually.</p> |
