LIQUID CRYSTAL IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To prevent a liquid crystal from being deteriorated and colored brown to impair image quality even after long-term use by forming switching elements of insulated gas transistors, coating signal lines and the drain wirings of the insulated gate TRs with thick org. thin films and electrically insulating the same from the liquid crystal. CONSTITUTION:Photosensitive polyimide thin films 24 are introduced in order to selectively insulate only on the signal lines 12 and the drain wirings 22. The polyimide thin films 24 are selectively deposited and formed on the signal lines 12 and the drain wirings 22. The photosensitive polyimide resin 24 is the org. resin formed by imparting the properties of a photosensitive resin which allows the selective pattern formation by irradiation with UV rays to a polyimide resin having excellent heat resistance and chemical resistance. The same equipment and depositing and forming method as for the photosensitive resin are applied. The DC component to deteriorate the liquid crystal by flowing into a liquid crystal cell is blocked or drastically decreased in this way. The problems in quality, such as the formation of the display images as if colored blown by the deterioration of the liquid crystal layer are solved in spite of impression of a high signal voltage by adopting a flickerless driving in this way.
