<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the liquid crystal display device which never changes in display quality by providing an active element and picture element electrodes which are manufactured having the same constitution with a display part nearby the display part, sealing them simultaneously with the display part, and using the active element as a sensor for a driving compensating circuit. CONSTITUTION:A similar transparent substrate 1 is used as a counter substrate, and the transparent common picture element electrodes 2 are patterned. Orienting materials 5 such as films of polyimide or hard carbon are provided on two substrates and rubbed, gap materials 6 are put between them together with seal materials, and while the gap is held constant, liquid crystal 7 is charged to constitute the liquid crystal display device. At this time, an element of the same constitution is manufactured as a sensor part nearby the display part area. Thus, the same elements are provided on the same substrate and their characteristic variations are measured and known in detail, so a driving waveform and a voltage can accurately be adjusted. Consequently, the liquid crystal display device which does not change in display quality is obtained.</p> |
