PURPOSE:To prevent defocusing attended with a manual focusing zoom operation at low cost by operating an automatic focusing mechanism only during the zoom operation when a photograph is taken in manual mode. CONSTITUTION:A camera CPU 46 turns on/off a CPU 48 for AP based on the signal from a mode selection button 50. Basically, when the automatic focusing made is selected, the CPU 48 for AF us turned on and when the manual focusing mode is selected, the CPU 48 is turned off. When a zoom device 52 is turned on, the CPU 48 for AF is turned on to switch the focus mode to the automatic focusing mode and when the zoom device 52 is turned off thereafter, the CPU 48 for AP is turned off again to reset the mode to the manual focusing mode. Consequently, the defocusing state is prevented from being caused when zooming operation is performed in the manual focusing mode without providing any special device. |
