<p>PURPOSE:To expand a cell bonding area and to enhance the decomposition treatment speed and removal ratio of org. matter by applying surface-moldifying treatment to an immobilizing carrier formed by entangling a large number of linear porous bodies each formed by providing pores having a pore size of 10 to 800mum to the entire region of a filament. CONSTITUTION:A linear porous body 1 is formed by opening pores 3 having a pore size of 10 to 800mum to a filament having a diameter of about 0.1 to several mm over the entire region thereof. A large number of linear porous bodies 1 are entangled to form an immobilizing carrier A having a form provided with two-dimensional or three-dimensional open perforations 4. Surface modifying treatment is applied to the immobilizing carrier A at this time to control the wet angle of the surface of said carrier with water to 60 to 120 deg.. By this method, the cell bonding area of the carrier is expanded several to several ten times a conventional one and the decomposition speed of org. matter is enhanced by holding a large amount of cells to high concn. and bacterial cell immobilizing capacity is kept constant regardless of salt concn.</p> |
