PURPOSE:To make a domestic endothelium compactly cover the blood vessel of a certain body as an implantation object over the blood contact side of an artificial blood vessel base material by preliminarily covering the implantation surface of the artificial blood vessel base material with collagen, and incubating the endothelium of the vessel. CONSTITUTION:It is possible to adopt any of conventional base materials including a woven polyester fiber for subject purpose. In order to incubate the transplanted endothelium of the blood vessel to such an extent enough to compactly cover the base material, a culture medium made of the non-serum culture of a linear fibrous cell added with a fetal calf serum and a growth factor is preferably used. As the concn. of the fetal calf serum increases, the growth is stimulated and a further high concn. of the fetal calf serum is required. Also, it is imperative to cover an implantation surface with collagen, prior to implanting a vessel endothelium to an artificial vessel base material. According to the aforesaid construction, the endothelium is deposited and incubated on the inner surface of the artificial vessel, and a compact covering condition is thereby ensured. As a result, the anti-thrombus function of the endothelium is sufficiently obtained. |
