NEW MATERIAL:The peptide (derivative or salt) of formula I ((m) and (n) are 1 or 0). USE:An antidemential agent. PREPARATION:The objective peptide of formula I can be produced e.g. by adding and reacting a compound of formula Boc-Pro-OSu (OSu is N- hydroxysuccinimide ester; Boc is t-butoxycarbonyl) to a THF solution of a compound of formula H-Arg(NO2)-OBzl (Bzl is benzyl) under ice cooling, remov ing alpha amino-protecting group, reacting with Boc-Ser(Bz1)-OH in DMF to elimi nate alpha -aminoprotecting group. reacting with Boc-Asn-OH to obtain a protected- peptide of formula II, reacting the resultant peptide with Z-Pro-OSu (Z is benzyloxycarbonyl). deprotecting in hydrogen gas stream in the presence of 10% Pd-carbon and purifying the isolated peptide by high performance liquid chromatography.
